Disapointing start for Lewis' Bengals

(Cincinnati) - So far a season that was supposed to be a turnaround year for the Bengals has been less than magical. After consecutive tough losses head coach Marvin Lewis is quickly becoming frustrated because he knows how easily his team could be 2 - 0 instead of 0 - 2. " After our game with Buffalo in which we gave up 8 sacks I tweaked the o-line and it showed when we played Atlanta and gave up only 2 sacks." said Lewis " Our defence once again kept us in it but a costly turnover and a few missed field goals proved to be the difference. "

Ben Rothelisberger was up and down in this one going 19 of 41 for 326 yards and 2 TD's with 1 interception. The recent additions of Donald Driver and Rob Gronkowski haved definitely helped him but rookie Marshawn Gilyard has struggled in the no 2 spot having 3 drops against Atlanta making that 4 on the year already. " I need to calm myself down and make those big catches so I can be a contributer to this team" spoke an emotional Gilyard " I spoke with (Coach) Lewis and we are working on some things in practice and hopefully we can fix this and start winning some games."

Lewis has made it clear that winning comes first and he isn't afraid to make the necessary changes to ensure that his team is in the win column. Halfback has been a target position on the Bengals thus far with neither veteran Kevin Jones or Rookie Noel Devine getting the job done and its no secret that the franchise has looked into the possibility of dealing the beloved Jones. Jones rushed for over 1500 yards last season and almost 1800 the year before but now his days in Cincinnati appear to be numbered with the team struggling in other areas as well. Next week has the Bengals facing off against the Jets as Lewis looks for his first win this season.
