Packers feeling good
After a 4-1 start featuring wins over the Broncos and Lions by 1 point, the Packers were feeling good about their season. In week 5, a 1-3 Buccaneer team got the better end of a 39-23 victory plagued by Packer turnovers (6 of them). This was a crucial game for the Packers as they looked past this game to see 3 straight games against teams who had winning records. If they had a 5-1 record rather than 4-2, getting swept wouldnt have felt catastrophic. However, since they lost to the Buccanners, these next three became highly important. The initial game was against the Carolina Panthers who had only 1 loss on the year and it would stay that way after a 34-24 victory over the Packers. Now at 4-3, the Packers faced a huge game to gain confidence and a win against a division leader. Going into the 4th quarter, the Packers were down 17-14. The final score of the game, 38-17. The Packers used a huge 24 point 4th quarter to get a huge win and move to a lot more manageable 5-3. This wasnt the end of the big games though. Week 10 brought a divisional rival in the Lions to town. The winner of this game would move to 2nd in the division. If that Packers won they would have earned a season sweep of the Lions and a virtual 2 game lead for 2nd. The Packers took advantage of the Lions starting QB Matt Leinart being out and Donavan Mcnabb not throwing any interceptions for the second game in a row to get a 24-7 win and more importantly a 6-3 record. This record gives the Packers a lot of confidence going into a 4 game stretch where the team with the best record is the Chargers at 3-6. GM Eric Wood stresses though that his team cannot overlook any team in this stretch and cannot afford a slipup that could cost his team a playoff chance.

Green Bay Wins Week 1
After an offseason filled with transactions, the Packers kicked the season off against the New England Patriots. With a few career days and perfect gameplanning, the Packers came out on top. The gameplan was simple, if your going to tackle the quarterback, make sure its in an injury prone spot. The Packers connected on Matt Hasselbeck who was off to a good start and he was gone. Next on the agenda, Chris Leak. Leak came in and did very well as well but boom. Gone. That left a kicker as quarterback and the Packers swarmed him and got the W. It wasnt just the defense though, Carnell WIlliams has a league best 186 yards rushing and Marques Colston had 259 yards receieving and 3 TD's to get the W.

Packers win week one in dramatic fashion
Heres the situation, the Eagles kick a field goal with under 10 seconds left in the game to go ahead 26-20. Then, they kick off to the a squib kick giving the pack the ball around the 50 and sets up the scenario of this: Chad "noodle arm freakin" Pennington has to throw the ball about 50 yards down the field to give his team a chance. Chad winds up and launches the ball about as far as he can, and it appears as though Roddy White has outrun the defense. Now it is just a matter of if he can stay in bounds, make the catch, and take it to the house. This happened and the Packers were able to escape after Mike Vanderjagt kicked the game winning extra point. This game featured a few surprise heroes on the Packers' side. Second string running back Warrick Dunn only had 4 carries, but on one of the carries, he took a stretch play to the left, broke a few tackles and then burst into the open field for a 58 yard touchdown run. Another surprise hero was the tandem of Alfred Fincher forcing a fumble and Tully Banta-Cain recovering it on a Reggie Bush kickoff return.

Game 1 MVP: Chad "no longer nicknamed noodle arm freakin" Pennington
Game 1 LVP: Phillip "i allow 5 catches a game" Buchanon
